Our company

The Truffles story began in 1982 when Peter Tompsett decided to make his passion and love of baking into a career. He bought a small family bakery in Henfield High Street called the Regency Bakery which, three years later was to be renamed Truffles Bakery. Having trained in London at the National Bakery School and then in Germany, Peter was keen to introduce a bit of continental flair to British baking and was determined to make as much as possible by hand from scratch every day (a practice that we are proud to be committed to for over 33 years).
